The Village of Union Springs is NOT stopping its recycling program. All garbage and recycling will be picked up weekly and separated as usual.
I have to admit that I wrote my blog out of frustration. Not only for myself but for the taxpayers that are paying for these services. So let me add some clarity. I continue to recycle and hope when possible, you will also. Bottles, cans and plastics will not decompose. Paper products and cut up cupboard will.
My comments over the week have elicited lots of feedback from constituents and other concerned citizens. Among those comments were some creative solutions. Our Village Board will discuss our options and hopefully will put in place some of the ideas offered. Recycling and changing some of our behaviors are very important in how we will do our part to conserve.
