Winter season is upon us, thanks to the 20+ inches of snow we received. As always I believe our Public Works employees did an outstanding job of keeping our roads safe.

This was also a reminder about the winter (Nov.1 – April 1) parking rules. And I was pleasantly surprised by how well everyone complied. If your neighbor doesn’t know about it, please be kind and let them know.

Speaking of reminders, the Village Tree lighting at 5:30 and the Children’s Christmas Party immediately following is this Saturday, December 3rd. This reminder is for the adults as the children already know!!!

On a less positive note, the village and surrounding areas are not exempt from the rash of car and home burglaries. Please lock up your house, take valuables out of your car and lock them also, and maybe leave a light on to deter unwanted visitors. And best, be good neighbors and look out for each other.

Many may have noticed the construction happening at our water plant, across from the high school. More work to keep our water safe for you.

Lastly, the election debacle is over (thank goodness) and the hope is for things that happen will be positive. With that said, the village election cycle is nearing. January is the typical time for candidates to seek office. This year 3 of the 4 Village Board seats and the Mayor are up for election. As the current mayor I am extremely pleased with the progress of the past year. There is a need for public interest and so if you are happy say so, and if not say so. Be involved.

If you would like to receive email notifications from the Village Clerk, please be sure to send her your email address at: usclerk@verizon.net.

Thank you and have a great holiday,
