We are in the season of planning here in the village, which includes the Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan, the Village Park revamping (playground, boat launch), the AJ Smith rebuild and the signage, street and sidewalk needs that go with each.
March 21st is Election Day here. Three of the board members and the mayor’s position are up for election. As decisions are made by these individuals representing YOU, it presents an opportunity to be involved. Come to the board meetings (third Tuesday @ 6:00pm each month) or seek office.
Attention: Once we retrofit our trucks with snowplows for the winter we are unable to do chipping of trees/brush and/or pick up lawn leaf bags. Please store them away from the road edge until spring. Also this is not a good time to get off the roadway in the cemetery. Unfortunately someone did and created a bit of damaged property.
On a better note: The National Weather Service has recently documented 2016 as another warmest year ever. For 15 of the last 16 years the worldwide weather has been warmer. With the January we have had (and I like warm) it may produce another record.
And lastly, when you see the Doug’s Fish Fry truck please feed your family! The proceeds from the meals goes toward one or more of our worthy not-for-profits and stays in the Village.
Regards,
Mayor Bud Shattuck
